Cape Buffalo Horns
Cape Buffalos often tend to chip and crack their horns. This is especially prominent in the area referred to as the ‘Boss.’ The Boss is the extra-wide area of the horn located directly on top of the Cape Buffalos head. When most taxidermists mount a Cape Buffalo, they will repair the areas of the Boss that were chipped, cracked, flaked off, etc. This is a common practice, and nearly every cape buffalo we come across will have some repair work done in this area.
